When a hunter goes through the process of choosing an outfitter, you can bet one of the questions asked will be “What is the ground like”? We understand the importance of this question as it will help the hunter make plans for the hunt….everything from ground blinds, type of tree stands, to the style of terrain you will be hunting on.

Majority of our 8,000 acres of the hunting ground we currently own or lease for hunting is located in Pike County IL, with 600 acres located in Calhoun County. With 850 square miles, Pike county is one o the largest counties in Illinois. It is well known throughout the United States as the destination to hunt giant whitetail deer.

From the rolling hills in the central part of the county, to the bluff ground next to the rivers, each tract of ground provides the basic needs of a thriving deer herd. The typical typography of this area provides a water source which includes many creeks, ponds, and springs. We have a food source which exists on 60-70% of most ground in the form of a corn/soybean crop rotation, and also clover, sugar beets, wheat, and turnips in the form of food plots. Shelter is provided in the remainder of the ground with timber and Oak Hardwoods, grass waterways and draws.
