Prime Pike County Illinois - Whitetail Trophy Hunting Man with buck

A quality trophy management program has been practiced since 1988. Our average mature 3 1/2 year old buck will score 140" plus and field dress between 185 to 230 lbs. The current stats on doe to buck continues to be less than 3 to 1. Our harvest success has averaged between 30% to 36% over the last six years, and our opportunity has averaged 55% to 60% on trophy bucks. We own and control approximately 9,000 acres located in the hills along the Illinois River. To ensure low hunting pressure, we limit our number of hunters to one hunter per 500 acres. Our hunts are archery only. With over 300 stand locations available, you can count on a great hunt regardless of wind, time of year or available food supply.

It is unbelievable how well our 140" minimum is working. The 2010 season will produce even more Boone and Crockett trophies because of our management system. We continue to see numerous buck that will exceed 200". We had over 35 bucks that exceed 160", which made it through for the 2010 season. It is incredible the amount of big bucks our management program has produced in the past few years. Carters is a family operation. We know the country and the bucks.

All our hunts are fully guided with lodging, meals and field dressing included. We have tremendous success throughout our entire hunt. Our country is farm fields surrounded by big hills and hardwood timber. The food plots of corn, soybean and clover are strategically located. If you are looking for a place to harvest a Trophy Whitetail Buck of a lifetime, Carter's Hunting Lodge offers that opportunity.
